If you haven't already checked out Jonathan Carter's blog (LostInTangent.com), then you're missing out on some great posts about Microsoft's new technology, ADO.NET Data Services. Basically, it allows you to expose your data in the form of an easy to use web service. This allows you to query it from client applications easily with ASP.NET AJAX, in .NET with strongly typed compliled classes and more.
You can build your own C# (or any other .NET) classes, and have the data automatically map to your objects. If you don't understand what I'm saying, or you don't see the benefit, then you need to check out those articles.
Writer's Strike Effecting Eels?
You might be wondering if the recent writer's strike is effecting the SingingEels.com re-write. Well, don't you worry! The two have nothing to do with each other (I hope you realize I'm joking here). But in all seriousness, I'm disappointed in how long it's taking me to do the re-write. I've recently been promoted to Software Engineer Manager which is taking out a lot of time out of my day.
Sometimes I want to quit my job and be a blog-bum, but then I realize the fact that I have an expensive eating habbit that I like to keep up. So, if you will continue to bear with me, I'll hopefully have a beautiful new AJAXy, Silverlighty (maybe), LINQ to Goodness and revamped SingingEels.com.
